BRNO CALLING

…Small ideas for a Big City…

The city is becoming a home to more and more people. We can imagine it as a fragile and complex organism. It has many functions—for example, we can play in it, do sports, shop, relax, or travel from place to place. The attention and care we give to the city will be returned to us in a better quality of life. This is also what the Brno Calling workbook is about, and now you can use it with your students.

The workbook is suitable for children in the 2nd grade of elementary schools (or lower grammar schools) and is supported by a methodology for teachers, available online (in Czech). This anchors the activities in the Framework Educational Programmes and makes it easy to work with and use the workbook in various lessons.

The workbook was created by the Participation Department of the Brno City Municipality, with content contributions from Barbora Dvořáková, an expert in locally embedded learning. It is richly illustrated by Tomáš Kučerovský.

The English version was created in response to the international character of Brno and is intended for children for whom English is a more natural language.
